TLC to Record Final Album

You may remember us reporting on a Kickstarter campaign launched by iconic group TLC to fund their fifth and final studio album a few weeks ago. Believe it or not, we have the results from that particular campaign and it turns out Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins and Rozanda ‘Chili’ Thomas will be back to record their final album after receiving $430,255 in backing from 4,201 avid fans. Initially, the group asked for about a quarter of that price, pleading for a $150,000 donation for the new album production and, in return, offering a slew of goodies in addition to the new album including autographed lyrics, photo shoots, listening partys, scrapbooks, and more. Further aid was provided by celebrity intervention, with pop star Katy Perry donating $5000 and New Kids On The Block donating a whopping $20,000. All in all, a great success and example.
