Billboard Names the Most Powerful People in the Music Industry

While many artists enjoying simulating a false sense of riches on-screen, it is often the people running the businesses who are the wealthiest. Billboard compiled 100 of the most prominent business figures of the music industry in their newest issue and Lucian Grainge, chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group, topped out at first place. Sharing the cover spotlight with Grainge are Kanye West and Lana Del Rey, both who are artists signed under the conglomerate. Lana shares her thoughts on Grainge: “Lucian has such an extensive knowledge of music history, yet his eye is always on the future.
