Fast forward to 2015 and when Daytrip (producer duo DenZ and Hugh Cosby) returned from Jamaica, they brought with them an unreleased Vybz Kartel track, “Up to the Crime,” which they have since transformed into a hybrid trap, dancehall banger. Presented forth via director Act Natural viciously vivid video translation to go with the track. Set in West London using non-actors, the video truly feels like the “little documentary’ director Robin Fraser had envisaged. Brutal and beautiful, it is an uncompromising depiction of the illegal gun trade. And there’s certainly an unmistakable ring of truth to it.
