VFILES took to the main stage at the Mercedes-Benz Pavilion at Lincoln Center last night to showcase its selects for the Fall/Winter 2015 season. The cult super-retailer handpicked four winning designers to debut on the runway, highlighting Ximon Lee, Andrea Jaipei Li, Discount Universe and Julia Seeman in a spectacle of a showcase that was, notably, soundtracked by none other than A-Trak. On the men’s side, New York-based Ximon Lee presented ornamental, layered arrangements of fragmented panels – blocking materials from neoprene to frayed denim in cloaks. For girls, Australian womenswear label Discount Universe stole the show with glitzy, glam rock-imbued pieces. The result is provocative and unabashedly sexual, relying on primary colors and evoking a dollish sense.
