Almost a full decade ago, Heron Preston aka Maserati Flamez was “on a mission to start a movement of sophisticated street culture.” Fast forward to today and the San Francisco-born fashion designer, writer, web designer and core #BEENTRILL# co-founder has amassed numerous creative projects under his belt. Today we unveil his latest project: a series of reworked Nike Air Force 1 Highs that honors the aesthetic of two classic fashion brands. Dubbed the “Street Sweepers,” these custom sneakers have been stripped of their Swoosh logos, replacing them with hand-cut vintage Gucci fabric in the classic BAPE motif. They come in both white and black colorways, retaining their clean uppers, laces and ankle strap. “HERON PRESTON” is branded on the insoles.
These special customs are the first release of an ongoing art project where Preston will be taking established products and re-branding them under his creative vision. Stay updated with Preston’s Instagram to find out how to buy a pair of “Street Sweepers” and expect more special releases to be coming throughout the year.
