With his timely reemergence into the music world fourteen years after his last album, D’Angelo is poised to retake his previously found fame this year and what better place to kick start his comeback than at the theater where he headlined his first gig. In a press release detailing the show, the Apollo has announced that D’Angelo will perform, supported by his band the Vanguard, on February 7, his first ever appearance at the legendary theater since 1991 when he played on amateur night.
