In 2012, legendary London grime crew Boy Better Know walked away from Red Bull Culture Clash as champions after going head-to-head against Major Lazer, Annie Man, Magnetic Man and Channel One Soundsystem in one heated sound clash. Taking business of defending their crown seriously, the collective ventured to Kingston, the birthplace of sound clash culture to get under the skin of the competitive sport and and learn more about the scene via conversations and studio visits with local icons. Documented in a short film titled Jamaica Better Know, BBK members Skepta, Shorty, Jammer, Frisco, Solo 45 and DJ Maximum met with dancehall and reggae legends such as U-Roy, Ricky Trooper, Lady Saw and Popcaan, and got a first-hand experience at cutting dubplates, while also discovered new talents along the way at the Unruly Clash Wednesday showcase. On October 30, Red Bull Culture Clash will return to London for the fourth time. Taking place at Earl’s Court, reigning champs Boy Better Know will go up against A$AP Mob, Rebel Sound, David Rodigan and Stone Love.
