Instagram Introduces Hyperlapse for Capturing Time-Lapse Videos

After launching Bolt back in July, Instagram returns with its latest mobile offering: Hyperlapse. While Bolt was launched as an ultra-fast, one-touch video and photo sharing application, Hyperlapse is also designed to serve a simple purpose as it allows users to smoothly capture high-quality time-lapse videos. Traditionally, time-lapse capturing has depended on holding your phone or camera steady for a long period of time while filming. Hyperlapse, however, features built-in stabilization technology that allows users to create moving, handheld time-lapses with a cinematic look, quality and feel–something that was previously possible only with expensive equipment.
To use the app, one simply taps to begin recording and then taps again to stop. After capturing, playback speed can be tweaked from 1x to 12x and then the video can be saved directly to your camera roll where it can then be easily shared on Instagram.
You can take a closer look at Hyperlapse’s stabilization below while the app can be downloaded exclusively for iOS via Apple’s App Store.
