Never to be left out, Casio makes an entrance into the action-camera arena – dominated chiefly by the likes of GoPro – with the release of its EX-FR10. Notably unique of its genre, the lens and the screen can be detached and used independently of one another, making mid-range (up to five meters) or hazardous shots easier. The lens portion harbors a f/2.8 lens, capturing photos at 14 megapixels and videos at 1080p resolution. The touchscreen controller stores images and videos using microSD, comes in an array of bold colorways, and features a rugged grip. Naturally, both parts are at IPX6-rated water- and dust-proof. Look for the Casio EX-FR10 to drop this season in Japan, with an official stateside release soon to follow.
