The soundtrack for the first Hunger Games pulled its content from a variety of blog-friendly, critically-accepted acts ranging from The Weeknd to The National to Antony & The Johnsons. For the soundtrack to the film’s forthcoming sequel, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, the movie’s creators have chosen Lorde to curate the project and provide the album its first single. Considering the “top ten songs” list Lorde produced for ABC last year, let’s hope she’ll continue in the same direction. Think less “Shell Shocked,” more James Blake. No word yet on when we’ll be able to hear the soundtrack or Lorde’s single, but expect more news to leak in the near future.
