Starting from the very first model, Jordan products have always been at the forefront of innovation. Like the great player from which the products draw their name, it seems Jordan Brand performance models have only gotten better over time. This is underlined in the Air Jordan XX9, unveiled just yesterday, which marks the introduction of Nike’s latest innovation: Flightweave. Flightweave takes influence from the process of knitting and weaving to create a one-piece seamless upper, reducing weight while also leaving room to infuse a Flywire-like lacing system at the sides. Even fused with the outsole – which sports a new stabilizing tendril at the Flightplate – the resulting silhouette is not only lighter than its predecessors by 8%, it’s one of the most durable as well.
