Prince has negotiated a new partnership with Warner Bros., and the deal will give the 55-year-old megastar complete ownership of his master recordings and yield new music from the artist.
“A brand-new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros. Records and Eye are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship,” Prince said in the press release.
The new deal will also deliver a digitally remastered thirtieth-anniversary deluxe edition of Prince’s classic Purple Rain, which will be available in the near future. His new album, Plectrum Electrum, is scheduled for release sometime this year.
