As we reported yesterday, Jay Z‘s former engineer Chauncey Mahan is expected to face charges of extortion and grand larceny after attempting to strike a $100,000 “Storage Fee” deal for a set master recordings. According to TMZ, these recordings are said to include masters for Jay Z’s albums Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter and The Dynasty: Roc La Familia. Mahan spoke out against the charges today, stating Def Jam had requested that he hold on the recordings and claiming his prior attempts to hand them over in the last ten years had been ignored by Jay Z’s camp. Just Blaze took to Twitter to give his opinion of Mahan, unleashing a series of tweets that shine light on many mishaps that went on under Mahan’s watch.
