Much like Josh Trank’s upcoming Fantastic Four movie, Alan Taylor’s Terminator: Genisys has seen more than its share of criticisms from fans–the fact that it’s an unnecessary reboot, the outcries on the plot involving Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) being raised by a Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), and so forth. Well, in an attempt to build excitement, a motion poster has been released on the film’s Instagram account to promote the first trailer, which is set to premiere tomorrow online. The visual reveals the iconic T-800 endoskeleton with its jaw and left side of the face slowly disintegrating into sand, followed by the return of Brad Fiedel’s pounding, ominous score we all know and love playing in the background. Obviously, there’s not much to go on since this is all just supposed to be a tease. Until then, we’ll have wait and see whether all that raging protest was justified. UPDATE:
Turns out we’ll be getting a glimpse of actual footage from Terminator: Genisys after all. The film’s Instagram account has released a follow-up teaser to the T-800 motion poster with a 15-second clip that offers a peek at what we can expect from the very first trailer. While it’s all very brief, we do get shots of a slick-looking Lee-Byung hun as the new T-1000, the earth in absolute peril, and Arnold Schwarzenegger himself staring at his endoskeleton arm in the rain. Let’s hope what’s been shown so far actually comes together nicely once we finally see everything in full.
