Reebok first unveiled the Pump in 1989, a year synonymous with the golden era of hip-hop and basketball. Drawing inspiration from both realms, Reebok celebrates the 25th anniversary of the iconic basketball silhouette by teaming up with Boston-based footwear mainstay Bodega. A crimson suede upper draws cues from varsity letterman jackets and the palette of a certain influential record set the tone. Dark suede panels provide contrasting hits and complements the tumbled leather accents elsewhere. Speckled print at the midsole continues the sneaker’s compelling semblance, while varsity numbers at the heel shout out the year Bodega opened its retail doors, and a gum rubber outsole completes this model with a classic touch.
