Italian Designer and Art Director Federico Mauro has been making high quality rendered replicas of iconic objects as part of a series of personal projects to improve his skills and appreciation for different styles. So far, he’s made one for famous guns, glasses, guitars and even shoes, and most recently, bladed objects. His latest series, “Famous Blades,” spans decades of cutting, chopping and stabbing implements made famous through their appearances in film, television, video games and history.
Cultural icons like the Grim Reapers scythe share the spotlight alongside Batman’s batarang, Cloud’s Buster Sword (Final Fantasy VII), the hammer from Oldboy, and even recent infamous additions such as Gus Fring’s box cutter (Breaking Bad).
Like many of his previous ‘Famous’ projects, many of the images were found through random Google searches as well as by scouring forums with the end of improving his personal style, though he definitely couldn’t leave out his appreciation for horror films with instantly recognizable classics like Freddy Krueger’s clawed glove and Leatherface’s chainsaw. You can check out the full series here.
