General Idea, headed by Korean-born Bumsuk Choi, recently presented its 2014 spring/summer collection at New York Fashion Week. Characterized by discernibly classic pieces updated via the use of progressive tailoring, a number of re-worked silhouettes speak on the collection’s course; varsity jackets with detachable knee-length trim and sleeveless double-breasted jackets are featured alongside simpler inclusions such as zipped hoodies and button-up shirts all tied together with similar geometric patterns. Avant-garde color-blocking runs consistently through the lineup, which adheres to shades of blue, black and beige as well as matching metallic fabrics together with various leathers to great effect, rounding out a strong selection from Choi and General Idea
