Launching in harmony with the new Windows 8 operating systems, Samsung introduces its Series 5 and 7 hybrid slate PC. An amalgamation of features from both a laptop computer and tablet PC, the two models feature a 10-finger multi-touch control system and a number of hand gesture commands. As the number suggests, the 5 will contain a less powerful Intel Core processor, less memory, a smaller screen, and of course a lower price. Both slates will work with Samsung’s revolutionary S Pen and can be propped up using a specially designed latch-dock keyboard that represents a full-size keyboard – converting the Series 5 and 7 slate into a laptop. Set to launch on October 26, the Series 5 and Series 7 slate PCs will retail for a price of $749 USD and $1,119 USD, respectively.
