Paul Budnitz is perhaps best known as the founder of Kid Robot, as well as the design mastermind behind many of the funky vinyl toy collectibles that the brand originally became revered for. What many may not know, however, is that the Yale-educated mogul is also an adamant biking enthusiast and recently-minted designer of high-end bicycles. Crafted out of titanium Lynskey Performance frames (“arguably the top Titanium frame maker in the world,” says Budnitz), each of his bikes includes custom fabricated pieces expanding beyond the frames to fork, stem, bars and even carbon Gates belts. Furthermore, all of Budnitz’s bikes’ cantilever frames absorb more shock than traditional frames and won’t rust or corrode due to their high-tech material. Despite their $5,500 USD price tag, the first run of the bikes has already sold out completely. Pre-order for round 2 will be available soon. Take a further look into the bikes here.
