Nike Is Suing Skechers for Copying Its Sneakers

Skechers is facing legal action from fellow athletic footwear brand Nike for allegedly copying the Oregon-based company’s sneaker designs. The Portland Business Journal reports that Nike has filed a complaint of copyright infringement on Skechers, citing that eight designs in total have been replicated without permission. The most notable of the designs allegedly stolen is Skechers’ Burst sneaker, which bears more than a passing resemblance to Nike’s ultra successful Flyknit sneaker family.
