A Closer Look at the Nike Kobe X "5 AM Flight"

Following the introduction of Kobe Bryant‘s 10th signature last week, we now take a closer look at the “5 AM Flight” colorway. Continuing the low-cut style that was first seen in 2009, the Kobe X takes a less-is-more design approach by blending three essential performance elements of hybrid cushioning, an advanced traction system, and a seamless textile upper for a clean, minimalist silhouette. The shoe features a blue lagoon seamless textile upper inspired by the pattern and durability of sharkskin, and a snake scale pattern along the nubuck tongue, while the underside features a unique graphic prints symbolic of each colorway storyline. The lightweight upper sits atop of a translucent midsole and outsole combining Nike’s Lunarlon technology and Free-inspired grooves for enhanced natural movement, to go along with a new Zoom Air unit contained in the heel. The design is rounded off with a new traction system comprised of hundreds of “nodules” providing maximum grip on the court.
