Nike Unveils Hyperdunk 2015
by Eugene Kan, July 11, 2008
While unknown to many until the unveiling of a colorway symbolic to its inspiration, Nike’s design guru Eric Avar hit the drawing table for the Hyperdunk with a never before released sneaker as his inspiration. Originally seen in the 1980’s movie Back to the Future II, the Nike’s seen on the feet of hoverboard flying Marty McFly would serve as a fictional peek into what Nike would have up its sleeve in 2015. This in turn would pique Eric Avar’s interest and incorporate extensively into the Hyperdunk. The recent debut of the Hyperdunk has amounted to a huge campaign filled with memorable viral advertisements and perhaps most notably the release of a McFly-esque Hyperdunk. The special inaugural release of the Hyperdunk 2015 at UNDFTD was a frenzy with this year’s NBA MVP Kobe Bryant rolling up in none other then a DeLorean. For those lucky enough to get their hands on a pair of Hyperdunk 2015s, many details can be seen throughout, some more obvious then others. The shoe itself has generated a buzz and hype not often associated with a flat-out performance basketball shoe and has struck a chord with not only sneakerheads but pop-culture aficionados as well. A further release is slated for New York’s House of Hoops and at select retailers around the world.

when will the hyperdunk (black color) shoes be on nike store or the mall in canada?
I actually agree that this colorway would be sick on the Air Force 180.
haha yeah I love the Nike Air Force 180
I would like to see the McFly colorway on the, get this! The Nike Air Force 180…yes the old Charles Barkleys…the shoe itself has that bulk look and the BTTF colorways on those would just look insane…(Union - did a shoe HOT!) Finishline even did a version HOT, and there is an Olympic version as well…LISTEN TO ME NIKE! HIRE ME!!! I’ll make it happen!
i’m so burned out on this mcfly craze.
