Rakim Releases First Album in 15 Years ‘G.O.D.’S NETWORK (REB7RTH)’
Featuring posthumous collaborations with Nipsey Hussle, DMX and more.
Four decades after putting out his breakthrough project with Eric B., Paid In Full, Rakim has returned with a landmark album entitled G.O.D.’S NETWORK (REB7RTH). The project marks his fourth solo album and first full-length release in 15 years.
As a duo with Eric, Rakim emerged as one of the most influential MCs of ‘90s hip-hop. Going against the status quo of on-the-fly, improvised rap, he made waves for his poetic, thoughtful lyricism, along with his clever rhymes.
On the new LP, he joins forces with a few of his late contemporaries, including Nipsey Hussle, DMX and Fred the Godson. He also links up with some of the same rappers that emerged alongside him, like Snoop Dogg and Method Man.
“Having the ability to showcase my talents behind the boards, coupled with the elite lyricism the world already knows and gives me infinite praise for, alongside some of the best talents to ever do it is truly a blessing and for that I am humbled,” the rapper said of the project.
