Original Story: This year’s Olympics is bringing many people far and wide to the city of love. Paris is at the center of conversations and brand activations, especially with Nike. Having recently hosted its tech-focused showcase in Paris, the Swoosh is bringing a familiar Neopolitan-colorway to a beloved silhouette. As an ode to the city, Nike is releasing a special edition SB Dunk Low in “Trocadéro Gardens,” paying tribute to one of the most historical places in the city.
Taking on design cues from the architecture of the Jardins du Trocadéro, the color palette mimics the rich landscape with its construction. Premium brown suede highlights the toe box and ankle collar for the luxurious aesthetic as it pairs with the matching laces and inner lining. Pink hues hit the side panels, while the Swoosh and overlays are in a light grey shade to complement the brown. The Swoosh and overlays seem to have a blotchy detail that suggests a potential tear away effect while the insole branding takes on a mud-like effect. The tongue labels and and the rubber outsole are accented in a marbleized outsole to round out the design.
