POTR has joined forces with doublet on a collaborative bag that merges a mini backpack and a duffel into a single, double-sided form. Rather than assigning a front and a back, the piece treats both faces as equals, giving wearers two distinct looks from one silhouette.
The concept comes straight from doublet’s design playbook. Masayuki Ino’s Japanese label builds wearable, real-world clothing around humor and surprise, swapping out pieces of familiar staples for unexpected ideas until the result feels just slightly off from the everyday. Here, that thinking lands on the classic Yoshida & Co. bag, borrowing its logic from the double A-side CD single, a release where neither track was treated as the lesser cut.
Ino frames the reversible format as a deliberate refusal to settle on one answer. “By not fixing the front and back and reversing the perspective, a new expression is born. The direction changes each time you carry it, and it resonates with your mood and outfit of the day,” he says in a translated statement.
Each face gets its own construction. The backpack side is cut from an original jacquard woven with POTR’s monogram and carries a zippered front pocket sized for small essentials like wireless earbuds or lip balm. Flip it around and the duffel side offers a snap-button pocket that doubles as storage: when the backpack face is worn forward, the duffel handles tuck neatly inside it, keeping the profile clean.
Color work ties the two halves together. On the pink and khaki versions, the zipper tape is dyed to match the body fabric, so neither side reads as secondary. Open the bag and a turquoise lining, a shade closely tied to POTR’s identity, runs through the interior.
Versatility extends to the carry. Two straps come included, an adjustable, detachable shoulder strap and a hand strap, and they swap depending on which face is out front. Whether the backpack or duffel leads, the bag works both as a crossbody and as a handheld.
