In celebration of its 30th anniversary in July 2026, Parmigiani Fleurier has unveiled the Tonda PF “World Firsts” Platinum Trilogy, uniting three ground-breaking horological inventions into an extraordinary series. Capped at strictly 30 pieces per model, the limited-edition set includes the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante, the Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante, and the brand-new Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux.
The first model, the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante, reinvents travel-time functionality by prioritizing dial clarity. Instead of permanently displaying a second time zone via additional scales, an 18-carat rose gold home-time hour hand appears on demand with a click of a pusher. When no longer needed, pressing the rose gold “Back Home” pusher integrated into the crown aligns the hand back beneath the rhodium-plated local hour hand, restoring the dial to a pristine two-hand layout. Powering this seamless operation is the automatic Manufacture Calibre PF051, featuring a 22-carat rose gold micro-rotor decorated with Grain d’Orge guilloché.
Addressing short-interval timing, the Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante elevates everyday time measurement through rare mechanical refinement. A dedicated rose gold minute hand emerges at the wearer’s request to track a target duration, operating alongside the primary rhodium-plated minute hand. Once the interval elapses, the hand resets to hide under the main minute hand, leaving no visual footprint on the serene, sandblasted platinum face. Driven by the ultra-thin, 271-component Calibre PF052 with a 48-hour power reserve, the watch exemplifies Parmigiani Fleurier’s philosophy of functional, discreet luxury.
Completing the trilogy is the Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux, a world premiere that radically redefines chronograph architecture. Stripping away traditional subdials, counters and peripheral scales, the timepiece maintains the unassuming appearance of a classic three-hand watch at rest. Upon activation, five coaxial hands emerge directly from the dial’s center to track elapsed hours, minutes, and seconds. Made possible by the new automatic Calibre PF053 – which utilizes a complex triple-clutch system (one vertical and two horizontal clutches) across 362 components – the Chronographe Mystérieux brings measured time directly to the heart of the dial before returning to absolute visual purity.
