Five Questions With Druski on Personal Style, F1 in Vegas, Coulda Fest and More
We caught up with the comedian at T-Mobile’s high-energy takeover during this year’s Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Las Vegas during Grand Prix weekend has a way of pulling you into its orbit, with the noise, neon lights and adrenaline. And that’s exactly where we linked up with comedian, creator and cultural disruptor Druski for an exclusive conversation about F1, personal style and comedy in only the way he can deliver it. Between the bright-lit activations and the chaos of race weekend, Druski moved through the Strip like someone who’s been here before, but he kept it a hundred with us on what his own experiences have really been like.
Fresh off tour stops and gearing up for his next Coulda Fest show, he touched down in Vegas with the same momentum he brings to his skits: fast, sharp and fully dialed in. And while the weekend had him everywhere at once, he made it clear how much he values freedom like seeing the races, connecting with people and his ongoing partnership with T-Mobile where he and the brand have more in-store in the near future. He’s currently part of a new campaign where the carrier just unveiled its new 15-Minute Switch — a super streamlined way for fans to move to T-Mobile in minutes.
In true Hypebeast fashion, we kept the conversation real, tapping his style evolution to tour highlights to the unexpected ways F1 energy has collided with his world.
Check out our Q and A below to read our convo with one of entertainment’s brightest stars.
Hypebeast:
You’re known for putting on wild fits for your skits and sometimes poking fun at current fashion trends. What are some Druski personal fashion “do’s” and “don’ts?”
Druski:
I will say my style has definitely changed over time. When I first started out, I used to wear a lot of vests and bright colors. As I got older, things matured — now I’m more of a suit-type guy. You might still catch me in ski goggles every now and then, depending on my mood or if I’m on stage. And I’ll still switch it up with Birkenstocks, a Nike fit, whatever I’m feeling. I’m always trying different things, but yeah, it’s grown over time. I’m not doing the bright colors and vests 24/7 anymore.
Since we’re at the Las Vegas Grand Prix — if there were a celebrity race and you’re behind an F1 car, where would you realistically place?
Honestly, probably first. Because “if you ain’t first, you’re last” — you know how the saying goes. Just all energy! I grew up driving go-karts in the neighborhood, so yeah… I like my chances.
If you designed your own race suit and helmet, what would the look be?
I’d definitely use that pink magenta from T-Mobile. They have to sponsor it and that’s the color — you gotta get your money right! I’m not about to pour all my own Coulda Been Records money for a race suit. Same goes for the helmet: full magenta, the whole thing. At the end of the day, my label’s not putting money into that — T-Mobile will!
Vegas has that ‘what happens here, stays here’ energy. What’s one thing you’ve done this weekend that fits the quote?
Well, one thing I have been doing is losing a lot of money at the baccarat table. So my money is definitely staying in Vegas. I’m not getting that back. It’s done. It’s over.
Coulda Fest has been on a run. What are some moments from the tour that sums up what makes it special and how would you convince people to pull up to the tour and see the show?
Yeah, we just did our Philly one, and the next stop is Atlanta at State Farm Arena. There are so many moments from the tour, but the Usher ones always stand out — me walking around in that red furry jacket looking like Usher! Those are some of my favorites because it fits my whole brand, and the fans go crazy when I pop out in the crowd like that. I also love bringing out artists I’ve worked with over the years. We just have fun on stage — it’s not just music. We crack jokes, we improvise and there are always funny moments. Those are definitely some of the highlights for me and a lot of people come to Coulda Fest not knowing what to expect, and they always leave amazed. All we’ve gotten is great reviews — 10 out of 10 every time. It’s been great!
