As creative director Julian Klausner prepares to present his first collection for the Antwerp-label in March, Dries Van Noten has announced a roll-out of new retail locations across the globe, set to begin opening in Spring 2025 and continuing throughout the year. In a statement provided to WWD, the brand acknowledged the opening of stores in New York, London, Milan, Brussels, and Tokyo, cities where the label sees vibrant potential.

“Each location is unique, emphasizing the importance of honoring the character and culture of the city, as well as the architecture of the space,” Van Noten said in the WWD interview. “The goal was to create spaces that feel authentic to the brand and deeply connected to their surroundings, allowing each place to tell its own story while remaining part of a larger narrative.”

As it stands Dries Van Noten has a total of eight directly owned retail stores and more than 400 wholesale stockists. Following its acquisition by Puig in 2018, the label began its initial expansion opening inaugural locations in Shanghai and Los Angeles in 2020. Later, in 2022 Dries Van Noten opened another Chinese outpost in Chengdu. In 2023, the brand’s No. 9 Quai Malaquais concept store opened, focussing on accessories and beauty.

The forthcoming boutique in New York is at 168 Mercer Street; in London at 21 Hanover Square; in Brussels at 89 Rue Antoine Dansaert; in Tokyo at 5-5-4 Minami Aoyama, and in Milan at 11 Via Brera. Each store is set to open in March and April, except for the Milan store, expected to open in the third quarter. The New York and London stores will serve as fashion and beauty flagships, while the Milan and Brussels stores will focus on beauty and accessories.

Though Klausner has taken the helm at the house, Van Noten is still involved in the creative decisions of the brand. On his collaborative approach with Klausner, Van Noten told WWD, “For both Julian and I, it is important that everyone leaves feeling connected to our brand,” in a statement. “These stores are a continuation of our story; they have reflected the brand’s identity for decades and now they are set to unveil Julian’s collection.”

“Our stores are truly unique. I am proud that my collections will reside in these spaces. It was essential for us to ensure that these locations honor both the past and the future,” added Klausner.

On March 5, Julian Klausner will present his first Dries Van Noten collection during Paris Fashion Week. Stay tuned to Hypebeast for coverage of the forthcoming Paris Fashion Week and the latest runway news.
