Awake NY Spring 2025 Honors Gil Scott-Heron's Enduring Impact
Featuring hoodies and dad hats emblazoned with the legendary American singer and poet’s records, as well as seasonal brand staples, like “Real Tree” camouflage tops.
As New York City eyes the end of winter (and Lower East Siders crave Awake NY’s Orchard Street block parties), the Angelo Baque-led brand is setting the stage for the oncoming months with the unveiling of its Spring 2025 collection.
At the core of the collection, Awake NY inked its second collaboration with the Gil Scott-Heron estate to curate a capsule honoring the legendary American poet and singer’s legacy. The lineup houses a hoodie emblazoned with the album artwork for The Mind of Gil Scott-Heron across its front and the record’s tracklist on its back, as well as a classic dad hat embroidered with the song titles from Scott-Heron’s debut 1971 album Pieces of a Man.

In addition to the line’s Scott-Heron pieces, Awake NY’s Spring 2025 collection is packed with the brand’s seasonal staples, like “Real Tree” camouflage prints, workwear jackets, and branded jerseys. Rounding out the range, there is, of course, an onslaught of logo-laden hoodies and T-shirts, as well as a bright blue trench coat printed with emblematic imagery.
The lookbook, pictured above, notably includes Awake NY’s new Air Jordan 5 collaboration. The “Arctic Pink” design, which sees Awake’s “A” motif on the lateral midfoot, is rumored to drop on August 29 for $210 USD.
Awake NY’s Spring 2025 collection will drop on Saturday, March 1, at the brand’s NYC flagship store, which is located at 62 Orchard St. The line will then launch online on Saturday, March 8. Take a look at the lineup in the gallery above.
