Playboi Carti Talks to Kid Cudi About Kanye West Executive Producing 'Whole Lotta Red'
“The world I’m trying to build, he already got it going on.”
Playboi Carti and Kid Cudi have linked up for a lengthy feature on Interview Magazine, with the Atlanta-born rapper touching on Kanye West‘s work for Whole Lotta Red.
“Kanye is the OG. He opened my eyes to some sh*t. When I got around him, I realized why I love him so much. You get what I’m saying?” Carti replied to Cudder’s question. “When I get around you, I realize why I love you so much. I even appreciate Ye for introducing me and you. Being able to talk to somebody who understands what I’m saying, I got that from his whole camp. I felt that energy from everybody he deals with. I didn’t feel like a loner. The world I’m trying to build, he already got it going on. Ye is on this king vamp sh*t. Cudi is on this king vamp sh*t. Y’all already on that.”
Cudi continued to call the 43-year-old artist “the ultimate big bro,” adding, “He’s someone good to have in your corner.
Ye served as the executive producer of Carti’s December 2020 album and appeared as guest features alongside Future and Cudi. Whole Lotta Red opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and marked the artist’s first chart-topper.
