Playboi Carti Ensures a Merry Christmas With Release of 'Whole Lotta Red'

After weeks of teasing and nearly two years of waiting, Playboi Carti has finally officially released Whole Lotta Red.

Fittingly dropping alongside the arrival of Christmas day, the celebrated rapper’s sophomore project clocks in at just a little over an hour with 24 tracks in total. Carti tapped stylistic innovators Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Future for choice features on the album with a red tinged music video paired with “M3tamorphosis” featuring Kid Cudi.

While Carti’s “baby voice” is kept at a minimum throughout the album, the artist showcase a unique depth that has developed since the release of Die Lit. Listening through the 24 tracks we are treated to frenetic vocal styling that introduces a cohessive tonal cohesive that defines Whole Lotta Red. With production by Pi’erre Bourne, Art Dealer, Outtatown, star boy, F1lthy, Juberlee, Richie Souf, Maaly Raw, Wheezy and more delivers a 808 riddled contemporary trap sound that serves as the essential base of the album.
