After featuring the works of artists Raku Inoue and Haroshi in sustainably-driven capsule collections, PANGAIA is introducing its new FLWRDWN technology. This cruelty-free alternative to goose and duck down emphasizes the brand’s commitment to using material sciences to drive sustainable progress for fashion.

Created with biodegradable elements such as natural flowers, biopolymers and aerogel, FLWRDWN is backed by 10 years of extensive research and development in PANGAIA’s Italian R&D lab. Developed with the environment in mind, FLWRDWN is breathable, insulated, fully recyclable and certified hypoallergenic. PANGAIA sources the wild flowers used for the puffer jackets’ fillings from areas which contribute to habitat restoration and help conserve a species of local butterflies. This type of regenerative agriculture reduces greenhouse gas production and preserves groundwater.

For the colder months ahead, PANGAIA is introducing two styles of hooded puffer jackets. The short silhouette boasts a concealed zip closure in matte off-white and black, while the longer style comes with removable sleeves and an adjustable length in navy blue. Made in Italy, the jackets sport a quilted recycled polyester shell and are filled with soft, vegan FLWRDWN. PANGAIA brings science and nature together to achieve the innovative microstructure material that allows the puffer jackets to provide extraordinary thermal insulation without harming the environment.

Ranging from $550 to $750 USD, the FLWRDWN puffer jackets will be available to purchase on PANGAIA’s website starting December 4.

For more sustainable clothing, Everard Best’s new collection, WHO DECIDES WAR by MRDR BRVDO, has launched exclusively on SSENSE.
