Summary

Hublot partners with Jeff Koons to launch two art-driven limited-edition timepieces.

The Classic Fusion Balloon Dog features "puffed" 3D geometry in steel and colored aluminum.

The MP-14 Origin debuts Hublot’s first automatic central tourbillon inside a sapphire case.

Hublot has announced a major partnership with world-renowned contemporary artist Jeff Koons, bringing his iconic sculptural language into the world of horology. Both Koons and Hublot share a philosophy of transforming tension into harmony and material into meaning, making this partnership a natural extension of their creative DNA. The collaboration introduces two standout models that merge Koons’ playful yet precise artistry with Hublot’s technical mastery: the Classic Fusion Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons and the MP‑14 Origin by Jeff Koons Sapphire Titanium.

The Classic Fusion Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons reinterprets Hublot’s sleek dress-sports design language through the lens of the artist’s famous Celebration series sculpture. To mimic the internal tension and air-inflated volume of balloon animals, every surface of the 42mm case, bezel, dial, and sapphire crystal has been re-engineered with convex, “puffed” forms using 5-axis CNC milling. Decorative codes abound: a rubber-molded crown styled like a balloon’s inflation valve, a flexible rubber “dog tail” extending at 10:30, 3D Super-LumiNova indices, and a seconds hand featuring a miniature Balloon Dog counterweight. Powered by the automatic HUB1710 calibre with a custom rounded tungsten rotor, the edition is limited to 200 pieces per execution across three colorways – mirror-polished stainless steel, red anodized aluminum, and blue anodized aluminum – retailing at $25,100 USD.

Pushing high horology into radical territory, the MP-14 Origin by Jeff Koons Sapphire Titanium acts as an experimental laboratory of mechanical art inspired by the cosmic birth of time. Housed in a 44mm octagonal transparent sapphire box case that requires over 534 hours of precision machining, the watch presents a gravitational architecture where concentric 18K white gold rings, set with 202 baguette diamonds and blue sapphires, orbit a central core.

Protected by a translucent blue-varnished sapphire dome evoking Koons’ Gazing Ball works, the timepiece debuts Hublot’s first automatic central tourbillon. The system is driven by the 594-component, peripheral-rotor HUB9014 movement, utilizing floating red and grey indicator cubes to display hours and minutes. Paying homage to the 14th Street location of Koons’ first solo exhibition in 1980, the MP-14 Origin is strictly limited to 30 pieces worldwide and priced at $488,000 USD.

The collaboration bridges watchmaking craftsmanship with contemporary art installations. Each Classic Fusion model arrives in specialized packaging featuring a color-matched chromed balloon dog sculpture, while the MP-14 Origin is presented in an immersive infinity mirror installation crafted with one-way mirrors and LED lighting.
