KEEN and Marmot have chosen the Targhee EXP WP as the foundation for their first collaborative boot, a hybrid hiking model designed to move between pavement and trail without a change of footwear. Built to carry the wearer through a full day across shifting terrain, the boot leans on KEEN’s waterproofing and traction systems to handle both the commute and the climb.
The waterproofing does the frontline work. The Targhee EXP WP is fitted with KEEN.DRY, the brand’s proprietary waterproof-breathable material, which blocks water from getting in while letting internal moisture escape, a combination meant to keep the interior comfortable across changing conditions. That membrane sits behind a durable nylon upper, giving the boot a hard-wearing shell before traction even enters the equation.
Underfoot, grip is handled by the KEEN.ALL-TERRAIN rubber outsole, built with a multi-directional lug pattern engineered to stay stable across surfaces that range from paved roads to open natural ground. It is tuned for durability over longer distances as well, positioning the boot as an all-rounder rather than a specialist. Up front, a KEEN.PROTECT rubber toe bumper shields the toes from rocks and obstacles, adding a layer of protection where hiking boots tend to take the most abuse.
