Gone are the days when you conceal your fridge behind a cabinet door. Well, at least according to Rocco.
Over the past couple of years, the US brand has been banging the drum for transforming a boring appliance into a home accessory. Now, they’ve teamed up with artists Laila and Nadia Gohar of Gohar World to create a limited-edition version of the Super Smart Fridge in a black mirror finish.
As with most Rocco models, fluted glass is used to obscure what’s inside the fridge, while other furniture-like details – developed with a Milanese industrial designer – range from a tubular handle to rounded corners.
For Gohar World’s limited-edition version, though, each appliance undergoes an intensive 18-day automotive finishing process, which includes a lacquer application, three-stage polishing, and a final wax to achieve an ultra-reflective surface.
On top of this, every Mirror Black fridge comes with a pair of hand-blown champagne coupes designed by Gohar for her brand Gohar World.
“As a rule, I always keep a bottle of chilled Champagne at home ready for any unexpected guests,” Laila Gohar said. “We kept this in mind when designing our mirrored black Rocco fridge, which also includes two Gohar World Champagne coupes.”
The Rocco x Gohar World fridge is on sale now for $2,295 USD.
