DSM Kei Ninomiya, the first edition of Dover Street Market‘s in-house label is gearing up for its Pitti Uomo 110 runway debut with a new campaign. In line with the first collection’s collegiate spirit, Japanese designer Kei Ninomiya renders his vision of what a DSM University emblem might look like.
The SS26 collection comprises 14 casual pieces, drawing inspiration from sports team uniforms and collegiate graphics. Without leaning too heavily on formalities of Ivy or prep, the apparel delivers elevated details to wearable basics like t-shirts, sweatshirts, knitted sweaters, and tracksuits.
On the oversized cardigan, striped trims accent the cuffs and front, while a DSM icon is featured as an intarsia graphic on the back. Front and center on the t-shirts are the DSM University graphics, recontextualizing the signature DSM elephant as a classic school mascot.
The Japanese designer, a protege of Rei Kawakubo and founder of Noir Kei Ninomiya, is set to present an all-new DSM collection at Pitti Uomo 110, marking the high-end retailer’s first foray into the runway. The DSM label was officially launched last year, with Ninomiya as the in-house line’s first creative director. Dover Street Market, a venture of Comme des Garçons, intends to continue evolving the label’s identity through the lenses of various future collaborators.
