For their latest collaborative chapter, the duo is shifting focus to the beloved GEL-Kayano 12.1, delivering a premium update that seamlessly balances São Paulo’s vibrant energy with classic Japanese precision.
Founded by Felipe Matayoshi, PACE has opted for a highly refined and future-thinking approach for its sophomore ASICS drop. Rather than relying on loud, distracting color blocking, the PACE x ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 establishes a clean white and black foundation, allowing intricate textures to carry the design’s narrative.
The sneaker’s dynamic upper is constructed from complex layered synthetics, combining perforated panels with grid-like underlays. Adding a distinct dimension without overwhelming the classic silhouette, the shoe features striking croc-inspired overlays. Glossy black accents sharpen the iconic ASICS side stripes, while embossed PACE and ASICS branding alternates thoughtfully between the lateral and medial sides for subtle contrast.
