Capcom has intensified the anticipation for its legendary survival horror franchise with a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, featured during the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase.
The footage offers a deeper look at the dual-protagonist system, following FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft as she navigates a series of mysterious deaths across America, and veteran agent Leon S. Kennedy, who utilizes his signature physical prowess to parry and stun enemies. This ninth mainline entry aims to evolve the series by allowing players to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives at any time, blending the immersive horror of Resident Evil 7 and Village with the refined action of recent remakes.
In addition to the gameplay reveals, Nintendo and Capcom announced several physical collectibles to celebrate the game’s February 27, 2026, launch on the Nintendo Switch 2. A limited-edition Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller featuring original Resident Evil Requiem art will release alongside the game, while new amiibo figures of Grace and Leon are slated for a Summer 2026 arrival. These figures will provide functional in-game benefits, allowing players to scan them to unlock exclusive weapon skins. With pre-orders now open on the Nintendo eShop, the title is positioned to be a major technical showcase for Nintendo’s new hardware, launching alongside a “Generation Pack” that includes the franchise’s two previous mainline hits.
