Summary
- Capcom’s Pragmata showcased at Nintendo Direct with gameplay mechanics and tactical hacking features
- Playable demo now launched on Switch 2, highlighting combat between Hugh and android companion Diana
- Full release set for April 24, 2026, across multiple platforms
During the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase yesterday, Capcom unveiled a new trailer for its highly anticipated sci-fi title, Pragmata, showcasing the game’s unique cooperative mechanics.
Set in a dystopian near-future on Earth’s Moon, the trailer follows spacefarer Hugh Williams and his android companion Diana as they navigate a lunar research station overtaken by a hostile AI. The footage highlights a “hacking” mechanic where Diana can break down the near-impenetrable armor of enemy bots. Players can modify the damage and effects of these hacks by moving a cursor through various panels toward a goal, adding a layer of split-second strategic decision-making to the high-tech combat.
First announced in 2020, Pragmata has faced multiple development delays, originally missing its 2022 release window and seeing a significant setback in June 2025. However, Capcom has now officially confirmed that the game will launch on April 24, 2026, for the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. To celebrate the launch date reveal, a playable demo is released on the Nintendo eShop immediately following the showcase.
