Summary

  • This pristine example has remained with its original owner’s family for nearly four decades
  • The vehicle shows just 3,300 kilometers on the odometer after years of careful storage
  • It features a fuel-injected 5.2-liter V12 engine and signature scissor doors

A 1988 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV has officially surfaced for auction at Bring a Trailer, presenting collectors with one of the most well-preserved examples of the defining 80s supercar. This specific U.S.-market chassis was originally delivered in October 1987 and remained within the original owner’s family until 2024, effectively serving as a time capsule of the era.

The Lamborghini is finished in a menacing Nero Tenebre paint, paired with a matching Nero leather interior. Exterior styling adheres to the model’s aggressive language, featuring iconic scissor doors, pop-up headlights, and a V-shaped rear wing. The stance is grounded by staggered-width 15-inch Ruote OZ wheels finished in gold, retaining the classic aesthetic. Inside, the cabin remains largely untouched, housing a gated shifter, a leather-wrapped Raid steering wheel, and an Alpine AM/FM cassette stereo.

Under the decklid, the car is powered by a Bizzarrini-designed 5.2-liter quad-cam V12 engine. Equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, the powertrain was factory rated at 420 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Power is managed by a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The listing notes that the car recently won an award at the 2025 Greenwich Concours de Sport, further validating its condition.

The 1988 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV is open for bidding now via Bring a Trailer, with the auction concluding on February 10.
