Japanese brewing giant Sapporo Beer has teamed up with General Scale, a sustainable sub-label under Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO, to launch a collaborative sneaker. Known for his “dissolved” and deconstructed aesthetic, Mihara Yasuhiro brings a distorted, avant-garde edge to this partnership.
The collaboration introduces an original silhouette available in two minimalist colorways: a classic black-and-white version and a sleek all-black pair. Both iterations feature a jet-black cotton canvas upper paired with thick cotton laces to achieve a rugged aesthetic. In a playful nod to the brewery’s heritage, the top outer eyelet is uniquely star-shaped, replicating the iconic Black Label logo found on Sapporo beer cans.
The standout feature is the distinctive sole unit, crafted from recycled rubber with a vintage, worn-out finish. This signature Mihara look is characterized by asymmetrical scratches and chips, giving the sneaker a pre-distressed, lived-in character. Rounding out the design is a bespoke co-branded insole that merges the logos of Sapporo Beer Black Label, Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO, and General Scale.
The sneaker is currently available for pre-order until February 27, with shipping scheduled for late August.
