First Look at the Air Jordan 3 "ACG" Sample
Highlighting the growing synergy between Jordan Brand and the Swoosh.
Summary
- A rare Air Jordan 3 “ACG” sample surfaces via RIF Los Angeles
- The design features ripstop materials, gum outsoles, and custom “AC3” branding
- While not slated for retail, the crossover signals future synergy between Jordan and Nike
The lines between Nike’s disparate sub-brands are becoming increasingly blurred as a rare Air Jordan 3 crossover with the Nike ACG line surfaces. Revealed via sample images from the consignment and resale shop RIF Los Angeles, the pair offers a look at what happens when Jordan Brand meets the eccentric aesthetics of the outdoors.
According to the preview, the silhouette retains the classic DNA of the Air Jordan 3 through an off-white suede upper and traditional grey elephant print. However, the execution is pure ACG. Earthy tones are paired with high-visibility hits of pink, orange, and yellow – the recognizable color palette synonymous with the ACG line. True to the sub-label’s functional focus, technical upgrades include durable ripstop materials on the collar and eyestays, paired with a rugged gum outsole for outdoor utility. In addition, the insoles feature a reimagined ACG logo shaded to read “AC3” as a clever branding design.
As of now, it is likely that the Air Jordan 3 “ACG” is strictly a sample and will not see a general release. However, following the success of the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4, it serves as a fascinating indicator of the Jumpman and Swoosh’s future design directions.
