All of Tobe Nwigwe‘s creative ventures are highly intentional, be it his unwavering wordplay on a genre-blurring track or, as he’s been locked in on as of late, a new needle-pushing collaborative footwear project. For the latest chapter in his Reebok x Chuku creative partnership, Nwigwe has curated the Reebok x Chukwu ABUO – a modern-day reimagining of the Reebok BB 4000 II rooted in family and representative of his artistic journey.
The sneaker features a mixed-material upper, complete with comingling hairy suede, nubuck leather, and textile, while curved overlays, a lace toggle closure, and a custom-molded heel logo round out the sleek design.
“Chukwu ABUO is more than just the next drop, it’s a reflection of growth, deeply rooted in my family and heritage, connecting where I’ve been with where I’m going,” Nwigwe explained of the highly personal release. “This collection represents clarity, how my past and future align in the now. It’s a refined continuation of what I started: classic, elevated, tailored, and still undeniably me.”

“OTU was the beginning, and together with ABUO, they’re two chapters in a bigger story about duality, balance, and staying grounded in where you’re from while stepping into what’s ahead.”
And, as always, family is at the collection’s core. “Family was at the heart of every design decision in this collection. My kids inspire how I think, create, and move through life.
