Summary

  • Designed by flw8studio, the F/ABA Nest showroom features a monolithic entrance and column-integrated windows
  • Angled counter aligns with furniture-echoing columns, while wooden-louvered textured wall diffuses light
  • Wood-toned ceiling with hidden lighting lifts the space while spotlighting F/ABA’s furniture

Situated in the tranquil and upscale Bundang district of Seoul is local minimalist furniture brand F/ABA’s showroom: F/ABA Nest. Designed by Seoul-based design firm flw8studio, the space draws its name and spirit from the delicate embrace of a bird’s nest, translating F/ABA’s signature flowing curves and meticulous furniture detailing into an immersive retail environment. Though the showroom spans just 30 square meters, its concept feels expansive: every surface and silhouette is calibrated to wrap visitors in warmth without sacrificing the brand’s refined elegance.

The exterior makes a bold statement through a single, monolithic entrance—a deep-toned sculptural frame outfitted with a custom 3M door. Meanwhile, the flanking side windows are seamlessly integrated into the building’s existing columns, forging a cohesive architectural composition. Expansive façade glazing bathes the interior in natural light by day and come evening, projects the showroom’s warm glow onto the street, ensuring F/ABA’s curved masterpieces remain focal points within the urban fabric.

Inside, a reception counter parallels the angled façade line, establishing a clear spatial orientation upon entry. Structural columns subtly echo the brand’s furniture forms, serving as expressive wayfinders, while the feature wall opposite the main window contrasts light and texture beneath a “birdcage” of wooden louvers that softly diffuse illumination over textured stucco. A warm, wood-toned ceiling with integrated indirect lighting visually lifts the low space, and each furniture piece is positioned like an individual artwork — united by a deliberate spatial axis and material flow that sustains visual continuity and balance.
