Official Look at Patta x Nike Air Max 90 "Waves"

Update: Nike has unveiled official images and release details for the two Patta x Nike Air Max 90 “Waves” colorways teased earlier this year. As shown before, the black mudguarsd wrap fluidly around the base, and a the lenticular Air Max logo changes from “Air Max” to “Patta” at various angles. Both colorways focus on gray textile uppers, with the Sapphire and Cuber accents applied to the overlays and the midsole. The images also show Patta branded insoles and special custom box for the release.
Update: It’s been over seven months since we first previewed a Patta x Nike Air Max 90 “Waves” with “Sapphire” blue accents. Now, a second colorway with “Cyber” green detailing has surfaced courtesy of artist Odumodublvck. As with its “Sapphire” counterpart, the mudguard has been adjusted to a wave-like shape as Patta branding has been applied to the tongue and lateral window. Odumodublvck also wore matching co-branded apparel that is expected to drop with the kicks this summer via Nike SNKRS, with the shoes priced at $150 USD each.

Original Story: With over a decade of collaborations under their belt as a duo, Patta and Nike are as potent as ever. The two kicked off the year with their running-themed capsule that featured the Air Huarache Plus and just celebrated the 20th anniversary of Patta by revisiting their iconic Air Max 1 “Chlorophyll.”
Now, it’s been revealed that the two are looking back to another hit release as the series of Air Max 1 “Waves” colorways that were introduced in 2021 serve as inspiration for a new project featuring the Air Max 90. In our limited preview of this upcoming Patta x Nike Air Max 90 project, it has been revealed that the sneaker, which turns 35 years old next year, will sport a new mudguard in black that appears in the shape of waves, mimicking the duo’s aforementioned AM1 project. The colorway itself sees a silver upper joined by hits of black and blue, as well as off-white at the midsole while blue Patta branding appears at the tongue tag.
At the time of writing, neither Patta nor Nike have indicated when this “Waves” colorway of the Air Max 90 will be releasing. Stay tuned for updates, including official imagery, as we currently expect the kicks to drop sometime in the next year via Nike SNKRS and select retailers worldwide.
