Miami during F1 weekend is a full-spectrum cultural flex. The paddock doubles as a runway, the air hums with engine growls and curated playlists, and everyone’s dressed like they might end up in someone’s recap carousel. Thanks to an invite from Liquid I.V., we experienced the chaos from a cooler vantage point—literally. Perched above the track at the Race House, we found shade, refreshing mocktails, and a crowd that knew the assignment: stay sharp, look sharp, and keep it moving at 200 mph while staying hydrated.

As an F1 fan, this was my first time experiencing the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix in person—and it didn’t disappoint, especially with McLaren taking wins in the sprint and final contest. The weekend brought everything you’d expect from a race in South Florida: brutal heat, bursts of unexpected rain, and a crowd just as hyped for the grid as they were for the guest list. Sure, the main event was on the track, but the lifestyle side of F1 showed up just as loud. From Rosé and Timothée Chalamet to Lisa and Simone Ashley, the circuit was packed with boldface names and even bolder fits. The whole thing felt like global fashion week colliding with a music festival, powered by the roar of million-dollar engines. Brand activations were everywhere, and with so much happening all at once, the sensory overload hit hard.

Some of our favorite fashion names showed up in force. The ongoing adidas x Mercedes-AMG Petronas collab returned with a South Beach pop-up and a race-timed collection featuring mangrove-inspired graphics on jerseys and a stylish fan range. Puma dropped three new Scuderia Ferrari collections, including retro T-shirts, Speedcat sneakers, and a limited-edition drop honoring Ferrari’s Miami GP livery. Levi’s also got in on the action with a Grand Prix-themed activation at its Aventura store, offering live customizations by Miami-based artist Alex Yanes. Together, it was proof that in Miami, fashion races hit just as hard as the cars.

Back at the Liquid I.V. Race House, familiar faces and top-tier refreshments were in full effect. Guests came dressed to impress, and the crowd included everyone from Williams Racing’s Alex Albon and former Haas principal Guenther Steiner to rising star Bianca Bustamante, actor Rickey Thompson, Dolphins running back De’Von Achane, and model-racer Lindsay Brewer. With races, celebrity sightings, and constant walking, the pace caught up fast. And with so much of the action still to come—practice, sprint, qualifying, and the main race—staying energized was essential.

Thankfully, the Race House had us covered with science-backed hydration on tap. “We often wait for a big trigger—like feeling really thirsty—before we hydrate, when in reality, dehydration can set in long before that,” said Dana Ryan, Senior Director of Scientific Affairs at Liquid I.V. “In a place like Miami and an event like F1, with constant heat and humidity, you’re losing fluids all day without realizing it. That afternoon slump or brain fog? Dehydration could be the culprit.”

We took her words seriously—and with flavors like Lemon Lime and Strawberry Lemonade on hand, we stayed cool, hydrated, and ready for whatever the weekend threw at us.

Wanting to understand more, we dug into the science behind the product. “Liquid I.V. is grounded in what we call LIV HYDRASCIENCE, it’s about how the full formula works together,” Ryan explained. “Research shows it hydrates faster and keeps you hydrated for up to four hours longer than water alone. And at a place like F1 Miami, that kind of staying power makes a real difference—you don’t want to miss the finish because you’re stuck in a bathroom line.”

The data backs it up: F1 drivers can lose between four to eight pounds of water weight during a race due to heat and G-force. “That’s why our partnership with Formula 1 feels so natural,” said Stacey Andrade-Wells, CMO of Liquid I.V. “It reinforces the importance of rapid hydration—not just for drivers, but for pit crews and fans enduring extreme heat.”

The Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix is easily one of the sport’s flashiest stops—and this year delivered a weekend that blurred the lines between sport, culture, and spectacle. With live sets by Kaskade, Sofi Tukker, and Pitbull, the event had the energy of a music festival and the precision of a championship race. Experiencing it all from the Liquid I.V. Race House made the chaos feel curated, blending sport, wellness, and fun in a way that just worked and helped keep the weekend moving in the right direction up until the finish line.
