Five Years Later, Charli XCX's "party 4 u" Video Is Here

After half a decade, it still hits the same. To celebrate the five-year anniversary of her fan-favorite cut “party 4 u” – which has also seen a recent revival on the heels of Brat – Charli XCX (finally) followed up with its official music video.

A cinematic endeavor directed by Mitch Ryan, the video kicks off with the songstress in an abandoned house post-party, ridden with empty beer bottles and balloons.

She wrote a lengthy Instagram post to commemorate the anniversary of the track’s how i’m feeling now album.

“how i’m feeling now turns five years old tomorrow… it honestly just feels like yesterday,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “So much has changed since then. Me, my life, elements of my music, and most definitely, the world. I made the album in just five weeks, from conception to release, entirely publicly in collaboration with all of you. It was so special. I felt like I rediscovered myself, my sanity and my sense of connection with the world at a time when we were all so alone. To create with all of you helped me feel okay.”

“It was all of us at our most raw. Our most stripped. Our most vulnerable. I will never forget it and I really can’t believe that five years later, one of the angel favorites its having its own special moment.”
