Young Thug Officially Announces New Album: 'UY Scuti'
After a few weeks of speculation, Thugger has confirmed the album is, in fact, coming.

April 16 has been a historical release date for Young Thug in years past, with the rapper dropping off both his debut mixtape, Barter 6, and Slime Language 2 on this date in 2016 and 2021, respectively. In keeping to today’s tradition, Thugger followed up with a proper announcement today, officially lifting the veil on his speculated return to the music scene: UY Scuti.
News of UY Scuti – which gets its name from a supergiant star – first transpired in the form of cryptic social media posts (and an entirely new UY Scuti-dedicated Instagram page), followed up by a billboard set up en route to Coachella stamped with UY Scuti and a May 2025 release date written small in the corner.
While many suspected UY Scuti to be an album rather than a single, Thugger officially confirmed the news today, taking to his socials once again to announce the LP.
“It’s time. Red planet,” he wrote on his Instagram story with a link to the official UY Scuti website underneath. On the website, Thugger displayed the album’s official cover art – landing in the form of vinyl and CD packs – alongside its alternative artwork and an initial merchandise drop as well.
While most details – including an official release date – remain under wraps, take a closer look at the UY Scuti cover art and merch in the gallery above and stay tuned as more details on the album surface.
