Lil Wayne may not be performing at Super Bowl LIX in his hometown of New Orleans, but the rap icon is still making headlines. In a surprising move, Wayne announced the release date for his highly anticipated album, Tha Carter VI, through a new Cetaphil advertisement.

Premiered on February 6, the ad cleverly plays on the theme of sensitivity, with Wayne helping others navigate awkward social situations. However, the most pivotal moment comes at the end when he turns down VIP tickets to a game, stating, “Nah. This is time-sensitive.” The camera then zooms in on a notice posted on a recording studio door that reads: “Do not disturb ‘til 06-06-25. CARTER VI.”

Wayne’s decision to reveal his album through Cetaphil comes amid speculation surrounding his absence from the Super Bowl Halftime Show, which will instead feature Kendrick Lamar. Addressing the situation, Wayne told Rolling Stone, “The world knew I was disappointed, but what they didn’t know was that it made me determined to deliver something way bigger.”

Tha Carter VI is officially set to drop on June 6. Watch the advertisement above.
