Labrum London FW25 Is Full of Nostalgia
At Abbey Road Studios in St. John’s Woods, designer Foday Dumbuya introduced a Fall 2025 collection inspired by the era that made him fall in love with UK music.
On Saturday night, Foday Dumbuya’s contemporary menswear label Labrum London took over Abbey Road Studios in St. John’s Woods for its Fall/Winter 2025 show, a music-inspired fashion spectacle that paid respect to UK music history, titled, “Designed by Immigrants: Sound of Us.”
“I was feeling quite nostalgic this season, so I wanted to reflect on the era that made me fall in love with music in the UK,” Dumbuya told Vogue. “It was a time when London started to embrace this new sound that spoke to who we are and stopped looking to the States. And it’s important to look at who was pioneering that movement. They’re the products of migration—their parents came from somewhere else.”

On the runway, the likes of Akala and Ghetts sported Dumbuya’s latest manifesto in his signature sartorial inventions, which included double-breasted blazers with casually oversized trousers, heavy coats with decorated utility pockets, and subtle embroidery on formals spanning button-up shirts to pleated trousers, while performing their own music for an intimate audience. “Their musical genius crafted a foundation that perfectly complemented the spirit of the show, allowing the performances to flow seamlessly and with raw power,” Dumbuya said.
Cowrie shell motifs, meanwhile, were central to the line’s visual identity — a typical marker of Labrum’s design language, one that consistently finds breakthroughs in vintage references.
